How to Make Creamy Herb Dressing

    Prep your ingredients

Mince the garlic and finely chop all the herbs.

    Mix the base

Greek yogurt, fresh herbs, garlic, lemon zest, olive oil, salt, and pepper combined in a bowl before mixing.

In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, lemon zest, lemon juice, and olive oil. Stir in the garlic, parsley, mint, and dill.

Chef's Tip: Let the dressing sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. This gives the garlic and herbs time to soften and blend into the yogurt.

    Season and adjust

Top-down view of creamy herb dressing mixed until smooth and thick with finely chopped fresh herbs.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust lemon or olive oil if needed.

Chef's Tip: For a thinner salad dressing, stir in a teaspoon or two of cold water until it reaches your preferred consistency.

    Serve or store

Use immediately or refrigerate until needed.

    Substitutions and Add-Ins

This creamy herb dressing is easy to adjust depending on what you have.

    • Greek yogurt - Use full-fat Greek yogurt for a richer dressing, or low-fat Greek yogurt for something lighter.
    • Herbs - Try basil, chives, cilantro, or oregano, depending on what you're serving it with.

    Flavor Variations

    • Green goddess-style - Add basil, chives, and a small spoonful of Dijon mustard.
    • Greek-style - Add extra dill, oregano, and lemon zest.
    • Spicy herb dressing - Add a pinch of chili flakes or a little finely chopped jalapeño.
    • Tahini herb dressing - Stir in a spoonful of tahini for a nutty, creamy variation.

What to Serve with Creamy Herb Dressing

This creamy herb dressing is perfect for salads, bowls, dips, and Mediterranean-style dinners.

    • Salads - Serve with Chickpea Feta Salad, a simple green salad, pasta salad, or Cucumber Feta Salad.
    • As a dip - Serve with crunchy vegetables, chips, oven baked Mediterranean chicken tenders, or warm pita bread.
    • Grain bowls and pasta salads - Toss with cooked bulgur wheat, quinoa, or pasta salad to add freshness and balance to grain bowls and Mediterranean-style dishes.
    • Seafood and chicken - Spoon over our sheet pan Lebanese salmon or slow roasted lemon and herb whole chicken.
    • Mediterranean mains - Serve alongside our Mediterranean boneless leg of lamb roast or these easy Lamb Koftas for a fresh, creamy sauce.
