Description

A smoked salmon bagel is a classic combination—creamy, savory, and full of fresh flavor. This easy-to-make brunch favorite is perfect for holidays like Easter, Mother’s Day, and even Christmas morning. With protein-rich salmon, whipped cottage cheese, and fresh herbs, it’s a healthyish comfort food that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.

Ingredients

4 bagels, halved and toasted

200g smoked salmon

1 cup cottage cheese or try our lemon dill whipped cottage cheese

1 cup baby herb salad leaves

1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

1/2 cup pickled red onions (or thinly sliced raw red onion)

2 tbsp capers

Lemon wedges, for serving

Fresh dill, for garnish

Instructions

Notes

Make Ahead: Prep whipped cottage cheese, pickled onions and other toppings up to 1–2 days in advance. Store each in airtight containers. Toast bagels just before serving.

Storage: Assembled bagels are best eaten fresh but can be wrapped tightly and stored in the fridge for up to 1 day.

Not Freezer Friendly: Whipped cottage cheese and fresh veggies don’t freeze well. Smoked salmon can be frozen separately tightly wrapped for 1–3 months—defrost overnight in the fridge.
