Description
This homemade Italian seasoning blend is made with classic dried herbs like oregano, basil, rosemary, and thyme for a fragrant, versatile seasoning mix you’ll use again and again. It’s quick to make, easy to customize, and perfect for pasta sauces, soups, roasted vegetables, marinades, and more.
Ingredients
2 tbsp dried oregano (approx. 6 g)
2 tbsp dried rosemary, finely chopped or grind in a pestle and mortar (approx. 6 g)
2 tbsp dried sweet basil (approx. 6 g)
1 tbsp dried marjoram (approx. 3 g)
1 tbsp dried thyme (approx. 3 g)
1 tbsp dried parsley (approx. 3 g)
1 tsp dried sage (approx. 1 g)
Instructions
1. Prep the herbs
Finely chop dried rosemary or grind in a pestle and mortar.
Chef’s Tip: Smaller herb pieces help the seasoning mix more evenly into dishes and prevent woody bits in sauces or dips.
2. Mix the seasoning
Add all the dried herbs to a small bowl and mix well until evenly combined.
3. Store
Transfer the blend to an airtight glass jar or spice container.
Chef’s Tip: Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months for the best flavor. Give it a quick shake before each use to redistribute the herbs.
